Cú Chulainn

Colour and watercolour pencils, 2012.

Cú Chulainn
Illustration of the legendary Irish hero Cú Chulainn. His name means “hound of Chulainn”, hence the dog in the background. I used this reference for the dog, and several photos by mjranum-stock for the figure.

WIPs / Closeups

Some WIP shots for the drawing.

  1. Great pictures , i am looking for a Cu Chulainn tattoo and the dog behind Cu Chulainn has given me a great idea, although its an irish wolfhound that he slayed. Cu Chulainn looking more like the huntsman pictures i think with irish wolfhound in background would look good . thanks for the idea .

    • Thank you! That’s cool that it gave you an idea. Good luck with your tattoo, it sounds like it’s going to look really cool! :)
